Victor started his career as a trainee lawyer in 1989 working for a London based maritime law firm. Having developed a taste for shipping litigation, Victor has gone on to pursue a 30+ year career in delivering specialist legal support to the maritime industry. He has built up experience and worldwide contacts and has strong links to Scandinavia and Japan and is instructed by clients on a range of matters concerning H&M and P&I type claims
Victor now works as an integral, senior member of HFW’s specialist marine casualty practice, serviced by over 35 lawyers and mariners globally. He advises on the full range of legal issues that arise from marine and offshore emergencies.
Victor is based in London and has travelled extensively throughout his career attending on board numerous casualties in the immediate aftermath of an incident to assist clients secure and preserve the necessary evidence; deal with the regulatory authorities; and to advise on those initial strategy decisions concerning jurisdiction, limitation and security that are so crucial to achieving a successful outcome.
