May Jensen is the Director of Risk Management at The CSL Group (“CSL”), a privately-owned Canadian shipping company headquartered in Montreal which operates a global fleet of specialised self-unloading vessels, off-shore transhippers and bulk carriers.  May joined CSL in 2013 and is responsible for the company’s risk management strategy and its implementation, including handling of all global insurance placements and claims handling.

May has over 15 years of international marine insurance experience gained in Canada and abroad, including five years with a leading transportation mutual in London, England. She holds a LLM and LLB from the University of Copenhagen as well as a LLM in Maritime Law from the University of Southampton.

May’s passion for the shipping industry is equalled only by her love of travel and exploring new cultures. As a result, May has studied, lived and worked in five countries on three continents over the last 20 years.  An experience she draws on in her current global role with CSL.
