Julian Clark is the Global Senior Partner at Ince, and is responsible for the various sectors and vast client base across the international legal and consultancy firm. With over 30 years of experience in mediation, arbitration and litigation, Julian is an internationally recognised leader in shipping and international trade, with great influence and standing in the industry.
Julian has been involved in various environmental matters concerning international shipping and trade throughout his career. Initially, he was involved in the Sea Empress incident off the coast of Milford Haven and the large pollution incident arising from the collision between the Evoikos and the Orapin Global in the Straits of Singapore. He has also handled major litigation with regard to ship emission claims and other environmental claims including contamination and health claims because of fungi, moulds and asbestos. Julian leads the ESG Team at Ince who are currently developing a verification system to authenticate decarbonisation processes and carbon credit trading.
He is also a well-known expert in piracy, e-commerce (including blockchain), cybercrime, cyber security and terrorism issues in the maritime field, and is currently the Chair of the Maritime London Innovation and Technical Committee and Cyber Risk subcommittee of the CMI.
