Giuseppe received a degree in Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering from the University of Genoa. He earned his professional degree in 2001 and then spent time training at V.Ships in Glasgow.
In the 2000s, he developed the activity of surveyor within the companies Det Norske Veritas (DNV) within the headquarter of Venice and Registro Italiano Navale (RINA) at their headquarters in Genoa. During this period he went abroad to the firm’s headquarters of Lisbon and Rotterdam, acquiring the necessary skills within the naval field which were reinforced by a great propensity in interpersonal relationships developed during numerous site inspections carried out all over the world.
In 2008, Giuseppe joined Studio Tecnico Averame, the family company born in 1947 and working within the shipping business for three generations. After having grown significant experience in handling claims working on behalf of numerous Italian and foreign maritime insurance companies, Giuseppe joined forces with Lorenzo and founded his own company in 2020. By teaming up, they addressed the need for growth at a faster pace to deal with the new challenges that the insurance sector was facing, without affecting, but improving the quality of the surveys, inspections and technical consultancy works that have constituted the basis of his relationships.
During his career, Giuseppe received the professional qualifications of Surveyor and Expert of the Genoa Chamber of Commerce, Technical Staff of Naval Construction of the Maritime Department of Genoa, Expert Witness of the Court and Expert in Marine Casualty Investigation of the Italian Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport.
He is member of the Association of Experts in Maritime Casualties (AIPAM), where he served on the Board of Director for two terms.
