Andrew Pike

Andrew Pike is the head of Bowmans Ports, Transport and Logistics sector.

Based in Durban, South Africa, he has been a maritime, ports and logistics lawyer for more than 35 years, specializing in casualties, charterparties, ports, terminals and logistics. He specializes in forming and facilitating relationships between stake-holders in logistics corridors from cargo sources through to the ports.

He has BA and LLB degrees from the University of the Witwatersrand.  Andrew is also a Fellow of the Institute of Risk Management of South Africa (F.I.R.M.S.A) (2001), Past-President, Maritime Law Association of South Africa, Past-Board Member, Ports Regulator of South Africa.

Andrew was also South African Risk Manager of the year 2001 and runner-up in 2005.

He is the author of three books, including Mayday off the Wild Coast: The epic story of the Oceanos rescue (Sheridan House, an imprint of the Rowman and Littlefield Publishing Group, May 2021), the gripping story of the sinking of the Oceanos in 1991 and rescue of the almost 600 passengers and crew.
